Fourteen cameos, seals, and medallions, each with Roman numeral numbering above, including: a large intaglio on onyx of Byzas, imaginary founder of Byzantium (I); a cameo on agate of a sleeping hermaphrodite with two satyrs (II); a cornelian seal with half figure of Omphale (VI); a caprice on white cornelian combining the head of Socrates with a peacock and an elephant holding a scepter (X); and a cameo on agate of an Egyptian duck (XIII). The objects were part of the collection which Conyers Middleton acquired in Rome in 1723-4 and sold to Horace Walpole in 1744
