Description: A pair of metal forceps with wood handles. These forceps, designed in the late eighteenth century by David Orme (1727-1812), William Lowder (d.1801) and John Haighton (1755-1823) of London were quite similar. The models had rounder and wider blades than those of British obstetrician William Smellie.
