Date of production based on artist's death date.
Mounted after page 282 (leaf numbered '65' in pencil) in volume 4 of an extra-illustrated copy of Joseph Spence's Anecdotes, observations, and characters, of books and men.
Provenance: Sold at Christie's, 20 October 1953, lot 285 of Derby sale, to W.S. Lewis.
