BEIN BrSides 2014 380: The illustration appears have to been cut out of the magazine and is mounted on stiff card. An illustration by Aubrey Beardsley of his poem, The three musicians, which appeared on pages 64-66 of the first issue (no. 1, Jan. 1896) of The Savoy, published by Leonard Smithers. The poem recounts a walk in the woods by three musicians --a soprano, a Polish pianist, and a "slim, gracious boy" of unspecified musical talents-- but the illustration depicts only the soprano and the boy because "The Polish genius lags behind."
