Abstract: A man in riding dress stands on the right, bending forward to take the hand of a young woman on the left, who leans away from him. He wears spurred top-boots and holds a whip in his left hand; a long queue protrudes from under his hat. The woman has a tall coiffure and holds a fan in her right hand. Two bollards line the walkway they stand upon; the exterior wall of a building is seen behind the pair
