Signed by the artist in ink in lower right, using his monogrammatic initials.
Date supplied by cataloger.
With a scale in feet drawn to the right of image. Also with the note "x this part pulld. down by the late Lord -", referring to an "x" marked on the top portion of the depicted structure.
Mounted on page 71 in a volume of ca. 50 drawings that was assembled from works purchased by Horace Walpole at the Vertue sale of 1757. Now bound in red morocco, this volume has Walpole's manuscript title-page: Original drawings of heads, antiquities, monuments, views, &c. by George Vertue and others. - Provenance
