- Abstract
-
George IV, dressed as a jester, dances at the center of the design with Lady Conyngham, who is dressed similarly. The king wears a fools' cap that has bells at the end and two additional protrusions from the side that resemble horns; he holds a noisemaker in his left hand. Lady Conyngham likewise wears a fools' cap, and she holds a staff in her right hand. On the left are four men labeled "The Friends of his Youth"; Earl Grey is in the foreground, with two men in white robes behind him and a man in a barrister's wig and robe at the back. On the right is a musical ensemble consisting of the King's supporters, labeled "A Band-ditte": a bishop plays the drum, Liverpool the cello, Canning the flute, Sidmouth the violin, and Wellington the cymbals
