Place of publication inferred from printmaker's known country of activity. According to the British Museum online catalogue, Verkolje "in 1672 settled in Delft, joining the artists' guild in 1673 [and was] several times dean of the guild during 1678-1688. ... He seems never to have come to England, but some of his prints dated 1680-4 are lettered in English and were intended for the London market."
