Abstract: A treatise on Islamic law by Marʻī ibn Yūsuf al-Karmī (d. 1623 or 1624) a prolific Ḥanbalī Islamic law scholar and historian, born in Ṭūrkarm (Palestine) then moved to Jerusalem and Cairo where he died. The author finished writing his book on Saturday, 17 (probably 27) Rajab, 1019 H (5 [probably 15] October , 1610) at al-Jāmiʻ al-Azʹhar. Copied on Tuesday, 14 Jumādá al-Ūlá, 1054 H (19 July, 1644) at Masjid ʻAbd al-Mājid at ʻAnabtā, a village in Jabal Nāblus by Yāsīn ibn ʻAlī al-Labadī al-Ḥanbalī al-Azʹharī for al-Shaykh ʻĪsá ibn ʻUṣfūr of the village of Barqā. The manuscript is preceded by four leaves of various anecdotes in a different hand

On title page (folio 5a): "Kitāb Dalīl al-ṭālib li-nayl al-maṭālib fī al-fiqh ʻalá madhhab al-Imām al-awḥad wa-al-ḥabr al-amjad madhhab al-Imām Aḥmad taʼlīf Sayyidinā wa-Mawlānā al-Shaykh al-Imām wa-al-ḥabr al-humām al-mughtarif min fayḍ rabbihi al-ʻalī Sayyidinā al-Shaykh Marʻī al-Ḥanbalī ṭayyaba Allāh tharāh wa-jaʻala Jannat al-Firdaws munqalabahu wa-mathwāh innahu jawād karīm raʼūf raḥīm."
Author's colophon (folio 88b-89a): "Qāla muʼallifuhu sāmaḥahu Allāh taʻālá: Faraghtu min taʻlīqihi nahār al-sabt sābiʻ ʻashar min Rajab bi-al-Jāmiʻ al-Azʹhar sanat tisʻ ʻashrah baʻda al-alf wa-Allāh subḥānahu asʼal al-wafāh ʻalá al-Islām wa-an yudkhilanī bi-raḥmatihi Dār al-Salām."
Translation of the author's colophon: "Its author, may God forgive him, said: 'I finished writing it on Saturday, the seventeenth of Rajab at al-Jāmiʻ al-Azʹhar in the year one thousand and nineteen. I beseech God, may he be praised, that I die as a Muslim and that he may admit me into the Abode of Peace'."
Colophon of the copyist (folio 89a): "Wa-wāfaqa al-farāgh min kitābatihi nahār al-Thulāthāʼ rābiʻ ʻashar Jumādá al-Ūlá sanat 1054 bi-Masjid ʻAbd al-Mājid bi-qaryat ʻAnabtā min qurá Jabal Nāblūs al-Shāmī ʻalá yad al-ʻabd al-faqīr al-muʻtarif bi-al-ʻajz wa-al-taqṣīr al-rājī ʻafwa rabbihi al-qawī al-qadīr Yāsīn ibn ʻAlī al-Labadī al-Ḥanbalī al-Azʹharī ghafara Allāh la-hu wa-li-wālidayhi wa-li-man qaraʼa fī hādhā al-kitāb wa-daʻā la-hu bi-al-maghfirah wa-kutiba bi-rasm fakhr al-ṣāliḥīn wa-zayn al-fāliḥīn wa-ʻumdat al-mutaṣawwifīn al-akh fī Allāh wa-al-rafīq ilá al-Jannah in shāʼa Allāh al-Shaykh ʻĪsá ibn ʻUṣfūr min Qaryat Barqā ghafar Allāh dhunūbanā wa-dhunūbahu. Āmīn. Wa-asʼaluhu an lā yansānī min daʻawātihi al-tāmmah bi-an yarzuqunī Allāh ḥusn al-khātimah wa-al-ḥamd lillāh alladhī bi-niʻmatihi tatimmu al-ṣāliḥāt wa-al-ṣalāh wa-al-salām ʻalá Sayyidinā Muḥammad wa-ʻalá ālihi wa-aṣḥābihi madá al-awqāt."
Translation of the colophon of the copyist: "The copying ended on Tuesday the fourteenth of Jumādá al-Ūlá, 1054 at the village of ʻAnabtā one of the villages of the mountain of Nāblus, Syria, at the hand of the poor slave who admits his helplessness and neglect and begs the forgiveness of his mighty and powerful Lord, Yāsīn ibn ʻAlī al-Labadī al-Ḥanbalī al-Azʹharī, may God forgive him and his parents and he who reads this book and asks God to forgive him. It was written at the order of the pride of the righteous, the beauty of the successful and the dean of the sufis, the brother in God and the companion to Paradise, God willing, al-Shaykh ʻĪsá ibn ʻUṣfūr of the village of Barqā. May God forgive our sins and his sins. Amen. I beg him not to forget me in his perfect invocations that God may grant me a good end. Praise be to God in whose grace all good things are accomplished and prayer and peace be upon our master Muḥammad, upon his family and his companions at all times."
