Starting with the largest design in its own row at top, "The cigar mania" shows a busy street scene with men and boys of all ages and social classes smoking cigars and discussing them; a quote "Give me a cigar" attributed to Byron follows the title above. The second row begins with an image entitled "The friendly islanders" that shows three stone-faced men wearing wide-brimmed hats and a woman standing with hands claspsed in front of them. Next is an image of a stout man and a thin man sitting in opposite ends of a rowboat, entitled "A waterman and a lighterman"; this is followed by an image of well dressed men and women brawling at a social event, with the title "An engagement for the evening" below. In the third row, "Highland second sight" is a half-length depiction of a stereotypical Scotsman wearing glasses and holding his hands up to his temples; beneath this are small silhouettes of dancing figures (presumably veterans of the Battle of Waterloo), most with artificial limbs and one holding crutches, with the title "The glorious 18th of June!!!" below. Next comes a design in its own border entitled "The arts reduced!", which depicts four men full-length with the third from the left holding a tray on his head with busts of politicians on it; six stanzas of verse are printed beneath title. Following this are four small images in a vertical column: a bust-length depiction of a man in a hophat above and three images of horses below, the latter images captioned "Graphy," "Top'o graphy" and "Geo graphy." At the end of the row is "Jonathan, Wild," a full length depiction of a man yelling and stamping his feet, arms raised. The fourth row contains four adjacent rectangular scenes sharing a simple border: "Mrs. Church & her adopted!" depicts a bishop holding a baby wearing a crown; "Londonderry & his favorite!" shows the Marquess of Londonderry in military unform about to embrace another man; "A speciman of Oxford learning!!!" shows the Duke of Wellington in academic dress sitting on a drum, holding a sword in his right hand and resting his left on a cannon, the words "Religious Liberty" on the floor beneath his feet; and finally, "The Poor Laws Amendment!!!" depicts a cheerful man showing an unamused man a building labeled "Workhouse," the former assuring the latter that "... we Whigs have your wellfare at heart ..."</dc:description><dc:description>Title devised by cataloger, using caption above largest design at top.</dc:description><dc:description>Series title and number at top of sheet.
