He wears his Chancellor's robes and says, "When I forsake my King, May God forsake me". A demon, clutching his shoulder, says, "Well said Old Boy! You're a true Disciple". Two smaller imps, flying above his head, say, "Oh! rare! he is a precious Brother", and, "How well he has learned his Lesson". Behind him are seated eight bishops, as if in the House of Lords, they say (left to right): [1] "Who w'od have ever thought to have heard him pray"; [2] "What a Hypocrite! a second Cardinal Wolsey!"; [3] "I thought he never called on God but to curse Mankind!"
