"The man walks (right to left) on a mountainous landscape carrying a musket, and with knapsack, sword, and sheathed bayonet. In the front of his cap is a red cross on a white ground (like that of the modern Red Cross), a similar but smaller cross is on his neat military tunic, which is blue with red facings.
