Venetias...D. de Plessis Besançon Legato...apud Remp. Venetianum. Copies of three letters in Latin to the French Legate Du Plessis-Besançon in Venice, to Cardinal Mazarin, and to Louis XIV, all possibly written by a Jesuit in Rome, thanking them for the council in the Venetian senate of Jan. 19, 1657, which permitted the return of the Jesuits. All are dated Rome, Jan. 29, 1657. 2 pages (f. 117) 8vo.

A comprehensive and richly documented treatise on the War for Castro between Rome under Urban VIII and the Italian states, apparently written before peace was made in 1644. This treatise seems not to be known to Pastor (XIII/2, pp. 863-875) and was apparently never published. Title, table of contents, and 119 pages, numbered ff. 134-195.

Dated at end: Parma, December 1580. Landi, Angosciola (Anguissola?), Pallavinci, and Gonfalieri address Don Ferrante Gonzaga for not complying with the summons issued against them to appear in a Roman court, in order to contest the charge of having conspired to murder Pier Luigi Farnese. The reasons which impelled them to conspire are given.
