"David Garrick, on the left, is lifted from his tomb by two angels, and flown towards the summit of the mount in background, to meet Apollo and the muses; the tomb is supported by the figures of Lyric Poetry and the Belles Lettres, a relief on the front shows Nature weeping over a medallion of Garrick; to the right of the tomb are a group of seventeen theatrical persons, drressed in their favourite Shakespearian characters; descending the mount towards Garrick are Thalia, Melpomene and Shakespeare."--British Museum online catalogue

Abstract:
The Coalition ministers are gathered around the table placed in the mouth of a cave. On the left sits Lord North wearing armor under his cloak, a goblet in his left hand. Opposite him on the right is Charles Fox, dressed as a centurion and sitting on a fox. He leans on the table keeping his right hand on three dice signed, "Madras," "Bombay," and "Bengal," and clutching a dice box in his left. Behind him Admiral Keppel, the date of the battle of Ushant (1778) on his helmet, raises his goblet in a toast. Behind him Sheridan, with ass's ears and "School for Scandal" written across his head cover, watches the Duke of Portland count out money to Lord Carlisle. On Portland's shoulder leans Lord Cavendish in a centurion's armor under his cloak. Between him and North sits Burke in a Jesuit's outfit reading his own "Plan of oeconomy [sic]." Under the table lie the corpses of Lords Shelburne and Ashburton, ousted by the Coalition

William Petty, Lord Shelburne, braces himself against the door to the Treasury in order to resist the pull of the rope tied around his waist. He is helped by John Dunning dressed in legal wig and cloak. The four men attempting to remove Shelburne from the Treasury are, from left to right, Charles James Fox, intent on forming a new administration; Admiral Augustus Keppel and the 3rd Duke of Richmond, both members of the Shelburne administration but opposing Shelburne; and Edmund Burke, later paymaster-general in the Fox-North administration

Abstract:
A Spaniard using his sword as a walking stick and capering with satisfaction, leads a procession along a country road to a building inscribed "Inquisition." He is followed by a happy looking Frenchman who pulls George III on a rope tied around the King's neck and through a gate made from two vertical spears with a third one tied horizontally on top. A lion is falling down from it while the unicorn tries to balance itself and the crown. The King is followed by Lord Shelburne (William Petty), mimicking both the royal posture and dress, and holding a rolled document signed 'Preliminaries." Their orderly progress is watched by a lean, simply dressed man holding in his right hand a scourge with many lashes and the word "America" between them. With his left, he pulls the rope tied around the neck of a boorish Dutchman, his hands stuck in his pockets, smoking a pipe

Abstract:
Design in oval. In a ballroom, Lord North, dressed as a lady in hooped petticoats and wearing his Garter ribbon, is dancing with Charles Fox who holds his hat in his left hand. Behind them sits Lord Chancellor Thurlow playing the bagpipes while at the same time receiving a bag of money handed him by Britannia who sits next to him. Thurlow retained the chancellor's office through two administrations preceding the North-Fox coalition before he was forced by Fox to resign. The bag of money may refer to the pension he was then granted
