"A doctor (left), grotesquely obese, stands in profile regarding with a satisfied smile his dead or dying patient, who leans back in an arm-chair with closed eyes. The patient, old and emaciated, wears night-cap and dressing-gown over breeches and stockings. Behind him are the curtains of his bed (right). At his side is a round table with a bowl, medicine-bottle, and a paper: 'Prescriptions, Bolus, Blisters'. On the ledge of a casement window is a close array of medicine-bottles. The doctor says: "My Dear Sir you look this Morning the Picture of health I have no doubt at my next visit I shall find you intirely cured of all your earthly infirmitys."
