It incorporates Nicholas Witsen's Asian and Siberian cartography - Witsen was a prominent politician, Mayor of Amsterdam, scholar and cartographer. The decorative cartouche features an oriental courtesan with merchants of many nations presenting gifts. Relief is shown pictorially.
