The collection contains correspondence, manuscripts, photographs, and objects documenting the life and work of Ralph C. Hamm. The two letters from Hamm to his mother, Margaret E. Hamm, deal with Hamm's writing, publication of his work, and prison life, including race relations, at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution, Walpole.
