An anonymous treatise on the Arab conquest of North Africa under the leadership of ʻUqbah ibn ʻĀmir (died 678), a companion of the Prophet Muḥammad who became the governor of Egypt and died there. The present manuscript is the first book (al-sifr al-awwal) of the original work, dealing with the conquest from al-Mahdīyah to Sāṭīf (localities in North Africa). Raḥmat al-ummah fī ikhtilāf al-aimmah "Mercy of the nation in the differences of the scholars." A treatise on the different opinions and interpretations of leading Islamic law scholars pertaining to legal matters, by Muḥammad ibn ʻAbd al-Raḥmān al-ʻUthmānī (active 1378), a Shāfiʻī Islamic law scholar, originally from Damascus (Syria) who became the Qāḍī (Chief Judge) of Ṣafad. The author finished writing his treatise on Tuesday, 11 Dhū al-Qaʻdah, 780 Hijrī (9 March, 1379), in Ṣafad (Tsefat, Israel). Shams al-maʻārif al-kubrá (Larger Sun of knowledge), by Abū al-ʻAbbās Aḥmad ibn ʻAlī al-Būnī (died 1225), a well-known Ṣufī scholar from the city of Būnah (Bône), now ʻAnnābah (Annaba, Algeria), who died in Cairo. This work is designated "al-kubrá" (the larger) to distinguish it from the author's two other treatises: "al-wusṭá"́ (the middle) and "al-ṣughrá" (the smaller). It is also listed in the text under the title "Shams al-maʻārif wa-laṭāʼif al-ʻawārif" (Sun of knowledge and intricacies of diviners), a treatise on magic, alchemy, astrology, divination, Islamic occultism, the name of God (including 'al-Asmāʼ al-Ḥusná', the 99 beautiful names of God), the magical use of the Arabic Alphabet, and talismans. The present work is a lithographed edition, printed from an original copy from India, in four parts, as follows: al-Juzʼ al-awwal (Part one: Pages 1-132), al-Juzʼ al-thānī (Part two: pages 1-116), al-Juzʼ al-thālith (Part three: pages 1-124), al-Juzʼ al-rābiʻ (Part four: Pages 1-148), followed by an index of contents for the four parts (Pages 1-7). "Shumūs al-anwār wa-kunūz al-asrār" (Suns of lights and treasures of secrets), a treatise on Islamic magic and occultism, by Muḥammad ibn Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥājj al-Tilimsānī al-Fāsī al-ʻAbdarī, Abū ʻAbd Allāh (died 1336), a Mālikī Islamic law scholar, from al-Maghrib (North Africa), who came to Egypt and died in Cairo. Treatise on Islamic magic and occultism by Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥājj al-Kabīr al-Tilimsānī (an obscure author). Copied by ʻAlī ibn Sālim ibn Muḥammad ibn Aḥmad al-Shāfiʻī, on Monday, 4 Jumād Awwal, 1007 [?] (3 December, 1598). The date of the year is suspect; it has been erased and re-written in a different hand. 4 Jumād Awwal, 1007, falls on a Thursday not Monday.
