On the left a leafless tree hangs over a short, fat gentleman with a tall stick who faces right and appears to be talking to Lord Chatham in top boots and muff. In the middle of the design stands a doctor, in an old-fashioned wig and slit shoes, sniffing his gold-headed cane. A tall man and a very short man walk, with their backs to us, towards the sentry box under the palace walls
