On the left stands a vertically divided figure of Lord Hood on its right and Sir Cecil Wray on its left, the ministerial candidates in the Westminster election. Lord Hood holds an ensign's flag with an incomplete St. Andrew's cross and a broken scepter on it. Sir Cecil holds a spear with a magpie sitting on its top. From the right of the image, the King, with the scepter in his hand and the crown suspended above his head, drives two reluctant electors toward the figure of the candidates, vowing that the election results will be as he commanded

Abstract:
Between two large pedestals, the one to the left topped with the head of George II, the one to the right with a sitting figure of George III, the Coalition ministers fall to the ground, their balance upset by a large platform, "New method of executing criminals (...)" pushed by George III with his foot. Charles Fox, who has already landed on the ground, grins announcing his intention of returning to power. Falling behind him, the frightened Lord North clutches the open "Budget" sack from which several documents fall out. Above him, Edmund Burke is about to lose his balance. The indifferent-looking George III busies himself blowing a large bubble, "Royal favour." The pedestals are inscribed, respectively, with the achievements of George II and the failures of George III

Abstract:
In an outdoor setting, George III examines through his quizzing glass a giant boulder with three bust portraits on it, each described below. On the left, in profile, is the Duke of Portland, with vague expression, "Supposed to be the head of a Patrician ... that never contained much brain ..." In the middle, full face, with angrily drawn brows, is Fox, "... turbulent and factious Tribune of great abilities which he exerted occasionally for and against Government ..." To the right, in profile, is a complacent looking Lord North, "... a Tribune of Patrician ancestors ..." who "... had the Art to impose himself upon the People for an honest disinterested man ..."

George III on horseback charges into the scene from the left, his enemies fleeing before him and his pack of dogs each named after a British admiral. Spain in slashed doublet is farthest right, attacked by a dog whose collar is inscribed Elliot, while France in a polka dot suit, bag wig and crown leaps over a fence with a dog (Rodney?) at his heels. Abstract:
The five powers involved in peace negotiations in Paris each stand on their tiny island in the sea. On the left George III says "I gave them independence." Next to him is a caricatured figure representing France, with the left arm cut off. "I must have Canada and Grenada for my Arm." Beside France a caricatured Dutchman bemoans the loss of his foot, and Spain in turn demands Gibraltar for his leg. On the far right America in the form of a female Indian announces "I have got all I wanted - Empire!." Above the scene Hibernia floats on a cloud saying "I deny all foreign jurisdictions..."

Abstract:
Charles Fox hangs by the neck from a large balloon with the image of the East India House on it. He has a fox's tail inscribed, "The man of the people." Below on the left stands a female figure of Justice with the face of George III. Under his feet are sheets of paper inscribed, "Coalition" and "East India Bill." In the right hand he holds a scale with half royal crown on one side and "America' on the other. Lifting the cloth that covered his eyes, the King blows the balloon away. Opposite the King, Lord North kneels on the ground, a "Letter of dismission" next to him. He begs George to keep him in office

Thomas Powys, sleeping in a chair on the left, and Charles Marsham, with a tankard, two of the country gentlemen urging the union between Fox and Pitt, preside over a maypole dance in front of the "St. Albans" tavern, their meeting place. The maypole is decorated with a sleeping head of George III. Dancers include members of the Coalition cabinet, pictured with devil's horns: Charles Fox, with a fox's body, Burke, dressed as a Jesuit, and the Duke of Portland, and members of the preceding cabinet, pictured with haloes: Lord Thurlow, in a judge's robe, a smiling Lord Shelburne, and the Duke of Richmond. Abstract:
Lord Thurlow depicted as a schoolmaster is seated on the left. He wears an enormous wig, and holds in his left hand the book "A new guide to India" and in his right a birch rod. Facing him stands Pitt dressed as a young girl, with a key (to the Treasury) hanging from her belt. On the wall behind them hangs a portait of the King labelled "a great Whig", a bust of Fox labelled "a true Whig" on top of a bookcase containing Newbery's Works, and a map with the face of Shelburne titled "a false Whig." The "h" in the first word of the title is inserted above the "i".

Abstract:
"George III guides (left to right) a plough which is drawn by a snorting bull; he is blindfolded and wears a crown and the garter ribbon; from his pocket hangs a fragment of "Magna Charta". Lord North rides on the bull, urging him forward with a whip, attached to his shoulders is a knapsack or bundle inscribed "Ways & Means". Another man goads the bull with a spear. A Scot in highland dress, probably Gordon, tugs violently at the bull's harness, trying to pull it back; two other men who have been tugging at the bull have fallen to the ground and the wig of one has fallen off. The bull is advancing towards the "River Tweed" (right), on the farther side of which are a large thistle and some fir trees on a hill. This shows that Scotland has not as yet been ploughed up for the emissaries of the Pope, see BMSat 5534. In the foreground (left) lies a sleeping bishop, his head on his hand, holding a crozier, and leaning on a book and a "Map of Bishoprick". Behind him and the king a Jesuit, a Catholic priest, and a monk are sowing in the ground which has been already ploughed. Above their heads the Pope is seated on clouds which are supported by a swarm of demons and imps. He wears his triple crown, a royal crown is suspended over his head; in his right hand is a crozier to which are attached keys, in his left hand is a sheaf of thunderbolts. At his side is an inverted cornucopia, pouring out documents inscribed "Absolutions", "Persecutions", "Releases from Purgatory", "Pardons for Money", "Excommunications", "Curses on Heriticks", "Indulgences", "Bulls", "Confessions". Truth, an almost nude female figure, stands upon clouds (right) surrounded by a glory of rays; on her breast is a face surrounded by rays. She holds up a large scroll inscribed "40000 English Protestants massacred in Ireland 1641 Protestants burnt at Smithfield in the reign of Queen Mary. Gunpowder Plot or an attempt to blow up the Parliament House Protestants massacred at Paris, in the Vallies of Piedmont. Tortures of the Inquisition." Beneath the design are the dedication and explanation: "To the Respectable Association of Protestants & to every Worthy supporter of both Church & State this Plate is Dedicated by their Humble Servt the Publisher. Explanation. The State Husbandmen Plowing up the glebe of the Constitution, whilst the Popish Emissaries take the Advantage of the supineness of the Established Church who is fast asleep in the Vineyard where its grand Adversary the Pope, and all his host of Devils, are permitted to Sow the Seeds of their Pernicious Doctrine: Opposition attempts to stop their Progress, but the band of Unanimity is broke, & they have fallen off. Truth descends, showing a Scroll of Melancholy proofs of popish cruelty, Soliciting the Aid of her Friends, to vanquish the Inveterate Enemy, who threatens the Ruin of thair Religion, thair Posterity & thair much injured Country."--British Museum online catalogue

Lord North balances smugly on his left foot atop the beam of a pair of scales tipping the balance in favor of a very obese Charles Fox. Fox laughs at Lord Shelburne who remains suspended on the other scale, unable to bring it down despite stamping his feet. He is being enveloped by a cloud of gas labelled "anathema" being excreted by North. Above to the left, George III, blindfolded with a tartan handkerchief, with the crown suspended above his head, reaches out from a cloud to place an enourmous wig on North's head
