Abstract:: "In the foreground John Bull, a drink-blotched 'cit', and George IV tug at a large pair of antlers. The King (right): "I tell you Bull I will wear them--I know they will become me--what am I allways to be disappointed." John wears a large white favour in his hat inscribed 'The Queen'; he says: "I'll be D--n'd if you do wear them yet, however much you may deserve them so it is useless contending G--e." At his feet is a large bludgeon: 'John Bull's Oke'. Behind them, a woman, apparently Mrs. Bull, strikes Majocchi, so that his nose gushes blood, saying: "You're one of the Villians from Cotton Garden" [see British Museum Satires No. 13824, &c.]. He falls backwards, saying: "Non mi Ricordo" [see British Museum Satires No. 13827]. In the middle distance behind John (left), stands a woman arm-in-arm with a sailor, who is next a soldier; she waves her handkerchief, saying; "The Queen for ever"; the other two wave their hats, shouting: "Go it John we'll stand by You." Abstract:: "An adaptation of British Museum Satires No. 11904 (1812), by Cruikshank, reversed, with Lady Conyngham replacing Lady Hertford. The open barouche, with four galloping horses and the Cupid postilion, is closely copied. Behind the carriage, as footman, General Bloomfield replaces McMahon. Conyngham replaces Hertford on the donkey, with the antlers, dress, and (incorrectly) the staff of office of his predecessor. He says: "How fortunate am I to have a Handsome and Cunning wife or I should not wear those marks of Distinction!" Lady Conyngham repeats Lady Hertford's words: "We have had a glorious ride my Love! It is worth Half a Crown" [cf. British Museum Satires No. 13826]. George IV: "My Cunning-one I have not Half a Crown to give thee, Would that I had." The Devil drives, as before, but sits alone, instead of beside Lord Yarmouth; a long barbed tail has been added. The 'Female Asylum' (for discarded mistresses) is similarly drawn but less ramshackle; the women looking from the windows are altered; Lady Hertford replaces Mrs. Fitzherbert: the words are as before, but '. . . his Poor F' becomes 'his Poor H'. On the roof, in place of two cats as supporters of the inverted feathers and coronet, are three cats with a (heraldic) scroll and a chamber-pot. The tail of the procession (Sheridan and the wagon 'For Yarmouth . . .') is omitted. The signpost points 'To Brighton'; Ragley is replaced (left) by the domes and minarets of the Pavilion, burlesqued."--British Museum online catalogue

Abstract:: "George IV, dressed as a monk, stoops over Lady Conyngham (right), placing a hand on her breast. He is clean-shaven, his whiskers, inscribed 'Transferred Whiskers', form a border to a bald head, giving the effect of a tonsure. She is décolletée, dressed in white, with white drapery from her head, suggesting a travesty of a nun (cf. British Museum Satires No. 5177). He says: "Speak freely thou Cunning-one, and by St George, I will give thee Absolution--(let me see) a Faux-Pas, is no deadly sin, and loving other men, it is our duty to love each other." She says: "Since my Conversion (Holy Father) I feel much lighter you have put a new conscience into me." They are large half length figures, hiding much of the background. Behind the King (left) on a table are wine-bottle of 'Holy Water', goblet, open book, and crucifix. Above this is a picture of asses at table, drinking wine: 'Feast of Asses in honour of Balaam's a[ss]'. Abstract:: "Heading to an engraved broadside. A servants' ball in the Pavilion, the musicians in the gallery being Ministers (left to right): Sidmouth and Liverpool play a duet at a square piano, gaping at each other; Eldon blows bagpipes; Castlereagh plays a harp. George IV waltzes with a fat, plainly dressed cook; he says: "How poor a thing may do a noble office!" A black footman dances with a fat lady; another lady dances amorously with a fat footman. One courtier (Bloomfield) dances with and embraces a fat cook, another has a more elegant partner. In the foreground stands Lady Conyngham (left), distressed and alarmed, her husband's antlered profile is just behind her; both wear coronets. She says: "Ah! with his scullion! Titles & rank are my defence But what can save her insolence!" He says: "If he has turn'd up my Wife I indeed may say--[citing Wolsey] "Farewell a long farewel to all my greatness!"" Abstract:: "George IV sits full-face in a chair of state, in coronation robes, between Castlereagh (left) and Liverpool (right) who reach up to bind a pair of tall antlers on his forehead, with a Garter ribbon, inscribed 'Honi Soit Q . . Mal . y. Pe[nse]'. He holds a sceptre terminating in a stag's head, round his neck is the collar of an order on the jewel of which is a stag's head. His right foot is on a paper: 'Order R--l Yacht to sail to Cuckold's point [a place on the Thames] G R'; his left foot is regally on a footstool. A green bag (see British Museum Satires No. 13735) is tied to the back of each Minister, inscribed: 'Christian [scored through] Loaded with Sins Green Bag'. That of Castlereagh is attached with a strap inscribed 'House of Cxxmxxs', that of Liverpool with one inscribed 'House of Lxxds'. From the former's pocket hangs: 'A list of Italian false Swearers' [see British Museum Satires No. 13762, &c.]; from the latter's hangs a 'Bill of Degradation and Divorce, L--d L.' The King says: "Oh! beware, --of jealousy; It is a Green-bag'd monster,--do you really think they become me." Liverpool answers: "Whether they become you or not they will look uniform at Court [cf. British Museum Satires No. 12173]." Castlereagh: "We are well aware She did not place them on.--no matter, it must go down, besides there has just arrived several notorious villions from Italy who will swear She did, and we are determined you shall be crown 'd one way, or other." Abstract:: "George IV sits on the throne, surrounded by kneeling women; he takes the hand of Lady Conyngham, who proffers their address: "Loyal Address of the Married Ladies." She says: "We the humble and Loyal Married Ladies feel ourselves bound in due veneration to your most sacred person to present to you our sincere thanks for the many tokens of Love we the Loyal Married Ladies have laid under and we humbly acknowledge the favours our Husbands as [sic] experienced through the medium of us the Loyal Married Ladies!!!--" Behind her, a second lady, resembling Lady Hertford, looks startled. With them is a third, perhaps Mrs. Quentin. Behind the throne, which he clasps, stands Hertford (or Conyngham, cf. British Museum Satires No. 13847) holding a staff topped by antlers; he gapes at the speaker, saying, "I never heard a speech from a Lady so Cunning--." The King adds "Hum!" On his right stands Bloomfield, looking slyly sideways at his master. Both wear frilled muslin boudoir-caps. There is no dais, and on the right two grovelling women kiss, one the King's left foot, the other his thigh. A third kneels beside them. On the left is a black woman, who says: "God bless Massa he kiss his black servant in the kitchen at Brighton [see British Museum Satires No. 13208, &c.], my good Massa, make no distinction, Black or White, Massa Love'm all." On the extreme left is the profile of a noseless prostitute. Abstract:: "A stuffed figure of George IV, heavy, inert, and puppet-like, wearing royal robes and with massive antlers on his forehead, is supported by his three chief Ministers. Under his legs are two prostrate men; his left foot is planted on the face of one who wears the remains of a tattered shoe. Sidmouth takes his right leg and holds it out towards the Queen, who escapes to the left. She is protected by John Bull, a stout countryman, who smashes the King's extended leg with a cudgel of 'oak', breaking off the foot. John, with clenched fist, says: "Dom thee, what Kick a defenceless Woman 'the Cowardly Rascal!" Castlereagh and Liverpool (right) support the King's shoulders. Behind (right) is a copy of British Museum Satires No. 13765: the King sleeps in a cradle (as in British Museum Satire No. 13764, &c.) rocked by Lady Conyngham, who sings: "hush my babe lie still & slumber 'tis Eliza guards thy Bed." The cradle is decorated with a pagoda, the Royal Arms, and a nude obese squatting Chinese, symbolizing the King. The Queen, looking behind her vengefully, escapes towards a Chinese doorway.
