A collection of prints and drawings probably assembled in the late 1830s or early 1840s, although the drawings may have been executed earlier. The wash drawings by Agnes Berry are of mostly Italian sites in Genoa, Florence, Naples, Rome, and Nice with one drawing of Mont Cenis in France. The lithographs are more varied in theme and include: two engravings after paintings by Raphael, possibly removed from an illustrated book; etchings and lithographs of carriages and coaches; lithographs of buildings; a group of four etchings by Henry Monnier and two lithographs by Delpach; and nine etchings and engravings of contemporary actors and actresses in theatrical costumes. All images have been mounted and most have been captioned, probaby by Margret Graves

A London street scene in the foreground of which Heidegger sprawls on the ground, his watch and coins falling from his pocket, as he begs mercy of Hercules. Hercules, clad in a lion skin, raises his club threateningly; with his right hand he holds a chain encircling a large group of masqueraders, some of whom have their hands tied behind their backs, their props or accessories are scattered on the ground; other masqueraders climb out of the windows of the building behind. On the left, Piety, Wisdom and Britannia emerge from a church followed by clergymen; beggars ask for alms, one holds a dog on a lead who rushes towards Heidegger. "A companion plate to British Museum Satires No. 13989 by the same artist, and with the same imprint. A Chinese interior resembling that of British Museum Satires No. 13986. George IV as a mandarin, languid and ill, sits cross-legged on a low settee. Peacock's feathers (cf. British Museum Satire No. 13299) decorate his round hat. Sidmouth as a Chinese doctor feels his pulse with concern. At the King's feet is a long rolled document headed 'List of Addresses presented to Caroline Queen of [Engla]nd'. Behind (right), a melancholy Chinese messenger hands Bloomfield (a Chinese wearing a large sword) a paper: 'Bill Thrown Out'. The latter registers dismay with raised arms. There is a slanting cloud of smoke as in British Museum Satires No. 13986. On the wall is a picture of the Queen, with sword and shield, fighting a dragon. Carved dragons decorate the King's settee (or throne), and there is a big dragon jar on the right; all the dragons look menacingly towards the King, who rests his right hand on a table on which are decanter, pill-box, &c."--British Museum online catalogue

"Sheridan, fat and grotesque, dressed as Pizarro, strides to the front of the royal box, followed by the King and Queen in Court dress. He holds out a guttering candle in each hand and shouts towards the stage: "Stand by there, move that Stone out of the Way hollo Music there play God Save the King d'ye hear take care Sire mind that Step, louder there Music make room for the best of Kings & wisest of Sovereigns! Encore." The King says to the bejewelled Queen: "No! no! no Jacobins here all Loyal all Loyal, Charming Man the Author eh! charming Man, never saw him in such a good light before." Three princesses follow; one says: "bless me I never saw that General at Court". Behind are two princes in uniform with gorgets, evidently the Dukes of York and Cumberland. "The King, in Chinese costume and seated on a cushion, among the chinoiseries of the Pavilion (cf. British Museum Satires No. 12749), throws up his arms in terror at the entry (right) of the Queen, closely followed by Alderman Wood. Her demure dress contrasts with that of a woman, who, much alarmed, runs off to the left from beside the King. Sidmouth (left) and Castlereagh (right), both in Chinese dress, are equally terrified, and Lord Eldon peeps anxiously from behind a little pagoda. Both visitors extend an arm towards the King in an authoritative gesture. Words float from them towards the King: 'Nothing extenuate nor set down aught in Malice [Othello, v. ii] men sleeping with her at Black Heath 1808 v. call Hoods [sic].'"--British Museum online catalogue

"A scene from Act V of Murphy's play as performed at the private theatre of the Duke of Richmond at Richmond House, on 20 April 1787 and subsequently. Lovemore (Lord Derby) stands between Mrs. Lovemore (Mrs. Damer), who holds his right arm, and the Widow Belmour (the fat Mrs. Hobart). Beside the Widow, and on the extreme right, stands a very thin man dressed with exaggerated foppishness, his hat under his arm; he says, "As the man says in the Play your Lordship is right welcome back to Denmark". He is Sir Brilliant Fashion, played by the Hon. Richard Edgcumbe. Mrs. Damer says, "This is Lord Etheridge Madam", and Mrs. Hobart answers, "No Madam this is Lord Lovemore"; the speeches have been transposed by an engraver's error. In a stage box on the extreme left sit the Duke of Richmond and a lady (the Duchess?) holding an enormous muff, her high coiffure much exaggerated. The box is decorated with a group, two crossed cannon, lying on a plan of a fort, with a kettle-drum, surmounted by a laurel wreath, an allusion to Richmond's unpopular scheme for fortifying Portsmouth and Plymouth, see BMSat 6921, &c. The ladies have tiny faces, framed in elaborately dressed hair, which contrast with Lord Derby's large head. A draped curtain frames the stage; in the centre is the customary 'Veluti in Speculum'."--British Museum online catalogue
