"A toilet scene. The Regent stands in profile to the right at his dressing-table, rouging his cheek with a small brush. An attendant, resembling McMahon, laces the stays which in front resemble a waistcoat; he tugs at the lace, standing on a low stool, using one foot as a fulcrum against his master's posterior (cf. British Museum Satires No. 8287), a small buffer ornamented with goats' heads being attached to this foot. On the oval mirror which reflects the Prince's face sits a monkey, holding on its head a wig with a pyramid of curls above the forehead with large side-whiskers attached. The Prince's hair is similarly arranged. The Prince's tail-coat, in back view, is spreadeagled on a stand. On an ornate wall-bracket inscribed 'Bills' and 'Recetts' are two ornamental files, one filled with bills: 'hatters Bill', 'Poulterers Bill', 'Fishmongers B', 'Hair Dresser', 'Taylors Bill', 'Butchers Bill', 'Docters Bill', 'Silve smiths Bill'; the other empty. A bracket-clock, surmounted by a figure of Time shearing a triple ostrich plume, points to two o'clock (reversed). A round wall-mirror and candle-sconce is surmounted by a figure of Bacchus bestriding a cask. On the dressing-table are pots and jars of 'Tooth Powder', 'Rouge', 'Otto of Roses', and 'Secilian Wash for the Skin'. He sings to her: "Together let us ran[ge] the fields." A man with closed eyes from which tears fall, sings: "Said a smile to a tear what cause have you hear." He carries an umbrella under his arm. Her dress is blown back against her skinny form; her hands are in a large muff, and she wears a fur tippet over a tight bodice defining shoulders, round to deformity. Her profile is hideously sub-human. She walks with a fixed stare, not looking at a half-naked beggar (right) with a patch over one eye and supported on a crutch who holds out his hat for alms. 'Tom Hickathrift \ and the \ Giants \ a new Growlo Drama \ with \ Wittington \ and his \ Cat \ a Pur-letta \ in which a real \ Cat and Mice \ will be Introduced \ - Due Notice will be given \ of Mr Carlo's next \ Performance.' He says: "Now I have got my head down Water I am determined to go on Swimmingly." "A young woman plays the piano (right) with painful intentness, and sings, as does the man who holds open her music-book, inscribed 'On Rosy Bed by Tinckling Billy'. A middle-aged military officer stands full face playing the flute. A fat elderly 'cit' sleeps in an arm-chair (left); his wig has fallen off and his legs rest on another chair. Behind him a very obese man and an ugly and over-dressed woman with a grotesquely thin neck sing from the same piece of music: 'On Rosy Bed'. He warms his back at a blazing fire; the feathers in her hair are alight in one of the candles on the chimney-piece. A small boy blows a toy trumpet, a dog howls and a cat miaows, standing on an open music-book inscribed 'Water Part ....' A scene in an artist's studio lit from an attic window (left). Four connoisseurs are grouped round a large canvas on an easel: an Apollo with a sheaf of arrows, head turned in profile to the left. The model is a tall black man in the pose of the Apollo but with very different features, the left hand holding the stick of a broom which supports the pose. A fifth connoisseur reaches up to alter the position of the model's head. The artist stands beside his canvas facing the invaders, the left hand, holding palette and brushes, rests on the canvas; he sucks his mahl-stick with a gloomy scowl. On the extreme right a cat sits in a cradle, behind which an alarmed little boy hides. The artist's wife, with an infant in her arms, faces the fire with her back to the visitors whose unwelcome intrusion is apparent. Behind is a bed with drawn curtains. Three casts from the antique decorate the bare room. The model's coat and hat lie on the ground (right). On the far left in the foreground a dog urinates against two canvases leaning against the wall

"A halt for refreshment in the Egyptian desert. The Princess sits on Bergami's knee, her arm round his shoulder, while he caresses her lasciviously. They sit with their back to an ass which brays: "Oh Tempora!!" She is very décolletée and wears trousers, and a feathered cap. A large miniature of Bergami, see British Museum Satires No. 13858, dangles from her neck. Beside them on the ground is a basket of bottles, and overturned spirit-bottle and glass. A small boy, Willy Austin, stands staring at the pair, and blowing soap-bubbles. On the left, but disregarded, is Mahomet (see British Museum Satires No. 14119) performing a dance with flexed knees; he holds up a crescent and a piece of drapery, looking towards the pair to say: "in his signis Vincetes!!," parodying the words of Constantine's vision of the Cross. Heading to a printed broadside in support of Queen Caroline, with a depiction of the Queen in the upper left, riding in a chariot pulled by a lion under a banner reading "Innocence and Triumph." The Italian witnesses against her are being led in chains to the gallows, the man at the back of the line remaking "This is past a joke O! Majocc"; a hangman smoking a pipe awaits them at the top of a ladder, noose in hand. Three figures with bags over their heads are already hanging, with a fourth hanged figure being fed by a devil with a pitchfork into the flaming mouth of a demon on the right, a "Green Bag" falling into the flames next to him. Another victim is skewered by a second devil standing inside the demon's mouth; the words "Milan Commission Receiving Office" are written amid the flames. A John Bull figure with a walking stick watches the scene from the right, remarking: "Well now if this h'ant a sight that pleases John Bull - Go & be hang'd to ye you Italian scoundels - come to swear an innocent womans life away."
