"A countrywoman (right), wearing a cloak apron, and pattens and holding out a volume of 'Wesleys Hymns', addresses a jockey standing before the door of 'The Ram Inn' (left): "Pray Young Man--- are there any Meetings in this Town?" He answers: "Yes Ma'am two a Year Spring and October." The dog at his feet wears a collar "Snap". Three persons standing on the doorstep watch with amused interest: a typical betting man in top-boots arm-in-arm with a young woman, and a stout rubicund man. Behind is the race-course; three horses (right) are almost neck and neck. Spectators on horse-back watch from 'Devils Ditch', and on the horizon (right) is the winning-post with a flag."--British Museum online catalogue.

A rider sits stiffly on a misshapen horse that wears blinkers. The rider's stirrups almost touch the ground, and his body and legs form a quasi-vertical line from head to heels. Above his hat is a dotted half circle labeled '90 degrees'. On the right in the middle distance another horse gallops out of control of its rider while further on top a hill in the distance is St. Paul's Cathedral and surrounding buildings.

"An Irishman seated on a bull which is galloping across open country towards London, seen in the distance on the right., St. Paul's being visible. He wears a short jacket and ragged knee-breeches, his legs and feet are bare. His hair is dishevelled and he is urging on the bull with his hat, which is raised in his right hand. He sits facing the animal's tail, which he holds in his left hand. From his saddle-bag appear books: "St Pat . ." and "New System of Fortune Hunting"; a paper hangs out of it inscribed with a list of ladies with fortunes, beginning "Lady Mary Rotten Rump St James Square 30,000£". A sack inscribed "Potatoes" is tied to the bull in front of the saddle. A milestone shows that it is "IIII Miles from [London]".--British Museum online catalogue.

"Pitt as Death on the pale Horse rides naked on the White Horse of Hanover, galloping over the prostrate bodies of pigs; other pigs, a multitude extending to the horizon, flee before him. On the horse's fringed saddle-cloth is a crown. Pitt is very emaciated, his flaming hair streams behind him encircled by a fillet inscribed 'Destruction'. In his right hand is a large flaming sword; in his left he holds the thread-like body of a scaly monster with gaping jaws, webbed wings, and serpent's tail. Behind him on the horse's hind quarters sits a naked imp wearing the feathered coronet of the Prince of Wales, with the motto 'Ich di[en]'. He grasps Pitt, and kisses his posterior; in his left hand he holds out a paper: 'Provision for the Millenium £125,000 pr An'. The horse's tail streams out, expanding into clouds, and merging with the flames of Hell which rise from the extreme right. In the tail and flames imps are flying, headed by Dundas holding a pitchfork; he wears a wig and plaid with horns and webbed wings. Behind are three imps: Loughborough, indicated as usual by an elongated judge's wig in back view (cf. BMSat 6796); Burke with webbed wings and serpent's tail; Pepper Arden [Identified by Wright and Evans as Lord Kenyon. The identification in the text is confirmed by Lord Holland.] wearing a large wig. In the foreground (right) Pitt's opponents are being kicked towards Hell by the horse's hind legs. Fox has just been violently struck in the face, and staggers backwards, clutching a paper inscribed 'Peace'. Sheridan lies prone, face downwards, hands raised, as if for mercy. Wilberforce sits on the ground clasping his 'Motion for a Peace' (see BMSat 8637). Behind Fox Lansdowne looks up from the ground, clenching his fists. Charles Fox, riding a lion, and William Pitt, on a white horse, face each other in the House of Commons, in front of the vacated Speaker's chair. Fox, holding a whip in one hand and a bridle in the other, tries to convince Pitt to dismount the untamed horse that stands with its front legs on a large sheet signed, "Magna Charta, Bill of Rights, Constitution," and kicks with the hind legs and defecates at the fleeing crowd of the members of Parliament. In return, Pitt praises his steed for its wild behavior. The last of the members pushing toward the door is the Speaker, Cornwall, in a wig and carrying the Speaker's mace. A satire on the dissolution of the Parliament on March 25.

"Two designs on one plate, divided by the title. [1] A hussar officer riding in front of his men mismanages his mount, so that it rears slightly, and he is about to slide off. He shouts "March, Trot, Canter, Charge, halt, halt, halt, I mean." He has dropped a trumpet from which issues a blast: "Oh what a Ninny I was to throw Myself off, they're laughing at me avarice Vanity False friendship, Ingratitude, Double dealing, absurdity, Hippocracy, Malice, Cut down Countenance." His sabre lies on the ground, and five riding-switches which have been rolled up in the cloak fastened to the saddle fall from it. On the ground is a paper: 'hints to bad horsemen'. In the background (left) is a church or cathedral (perhaps intended for Salisbury), with trees and houses.
