The design is composed of a large rectangular image at top center of sheet and another image below it, both flanked by three small images in form of vignettes on each side.
Central upper panel is a reissue of a plate published ca. 1733: Law is a bottomless pit. Cf. Catalogue of prints and drawings in the British Museum. Division I, political and personal satires, v. 2, no. 1990.
Verse inscribed below image: Two neighbors sought revenge: to law they went, thro' passions blind, spurr'd on by discontent ...
