Inscribed below portrait: Chosen alderman of Billingsgate Ward 5 July 1770. Elected member of Parliament for the City of London 11 July 1770. Sent prisoner to the Tower 26 March 1771.
The text of the broadside contains an address, To the worthy liverymen on the City of London, followed by an address To the committee appointed by the Common Concil of London to provide a table for Mr. Alderman Oliver at the city expence [sic] during his imprisonment in the Tower.
