A Shīʻah treatise to prove that Imams and prophets do disappear and reappear (a fundamental Shīʻah doctrine), by Muḥammad ibn ʻAlī ibn Bābawayh al-Qummī (918 or 919-991 or 992), also known by the epithet "al-Shaykh al-Ṣadūq" (the Trustworthy Shaykh "Master"), the most learned Shīʻī thinker of his day and one of the most important Shīʻī scholars. The work is also listed in reference sources under its longer titles "Ikmāl al-dīn wa-itmām al-niʻmah fī ithbāt al-ghaybah wa-kashf al-ḥayrah" and "Kamāl al-dīn wa-tamām al-niʻmah fī ithbāt al-ghaybah wa-kashf al-ḥayrah" (See: Brockelmann, GAL, S I: 322). Copied on Saturday, 20 Jumādá al-Thānī, 1034 (30 March, 1625) at "Qaryat Hāndūkafarḥay [?] min maḍāfāt baldah muʻaẓẓamah [...?]" (location could not be identified). Name of copyist not mentioned.

Qad waqaʻa al-farāgh fī yawm al-Sabt muʼarrakhan 20 shahr Jumādá al-Thānī sanat 1034 fī Qaryat Hāndūkafarḥay [?] min maḍāfāt baldah muʻaẓẓamah [...?] ṣānahā Allāh taʻālá ʻan āfāt al-du[hū]r. Tamm. Tamm. Tamm. [Illegible seal]."
In clear and somewhat small naskh script, in black ink on white paper; headings, keywords and markings in red; sometimes the headings are in large black script; about 100 leaves have some repair with some loss of text; extensive marginal notes in different hands; catchwords.
Incipit: "Bismillāh al-Raḥmān al-Raḥīm. Rabbi aʻin wa-waffiq ʻalá itmāmih. al-Ḥamdu lillāh al-wāḥid al-aḥad, al-fard al-ṣamad, al-qādir al-ʻalīm al-ḥakīm, taqaddasa wa-taʻālá ʻan ṣifāt al-makhlūqīn, dhī al-jalāl wa-al-ikrām wa-[...] wa-al-inʻām alladhī la-hu al-asmāʼ al-ḥusná wa-al-amthāl al-ʻulyā wa-al-ḥikmah al-bālighah ..."
On folio 271a an ownership statement dated 1199 Hijrī (1784 or 1785): "Mimmā manna bi-hi al-Malik al-Jalīl ʻalá ʻabdihi al-ḍaʻīf al-dhalīl Mūsá ibn Sayyid ʻAlī ibn Sayyid Yūsuf ibn Kāẓim al-Mūsawī nasaban wa-al-Hīn Abzalī [?] nisbatan. Raḥima Allāh wālidayhi man laqāhu wa-rajjaʻahu ilá ṣāḥibihi, wa-laʻan Allāh man laqāhu wa-saraqahu wa-lam yurajjiʻhu ilá ṣāḥibihi wa-ḥarāmun ʻalayhi an yanẓura fīhi. Sanat tisʻah wa-tisʻīn wa-alf wa-miʼah [1199 (1784 or 1785)]."

May prayer and peace be upon the Master of the Nations [Prophet Muḥammad] and upon his family and chosen companions till Judgment Day. It was completed on Saturday, dated 20 Jumādá al-Thānī, the year 1034 [30 March, 1625] at the village of Hāndūkafarḥay [?], a dependency of the exalted town of [...?], may the Almighty God protect it from the calamities of time. Completed. Completed. Completed. [Illegible seal]."
البداية: "بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم. ربّ أعن ووفق على إتمامه. الحمد لله الواحد الأحد، الفرد الصمد، القادر العليم الحكيم، تقدس وتعالى عن صفات المخلوقين، ذي الجلال والإكرام و[...] والإنعام الذي له الأسماء الحسنى والأمثال العليا والحكمة البالغة ..."
الخاتمة: "تمت. الحمد لله على الإتمام والصلوة والسلام على سيد الأنام وعلى آله وأصحابه المنتخبين إلى يوم القيام. قد وقع الفراغ في يوم السبت مؤرخًا 20 شهر جميدى [جمادى] الثاني سنة 1034 في قرية هاندوكفرحي [؟] من مضافات بلدة معظمة [...؟] صانها الله تعالى عن آفات الد[هو]ر. تم. تم. تم. [ختم غير مقروء]."
