Anonymous Commentary on the Qurʼān, being an addition (takmilah) to the commentary of Jalāl al-Dīn Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad al-Maḥallī, 1389-1459 (an Egyptian Islamic law scholar). al-Maḥallī's commentary (from Sūrat al-Baqarah to Sūrat al-Isrāʼ) is part of the well-known commentary on the Qurʼān titled "Tafsīr al-Jalālayn" (Jalāl al-Dīn al-Maḥallī and Jalāl al-Dīn al-Suyūṭī). The present manuscript starts with the commentary on Sūrat al-Baqarah (Chapter 2) and ends with part of verse 6 of Surat al-al-Māʼidah (Chapter 5). Name of copyist and place and date of copying not mentioned, probably from the 18th century.

Binding: Modern black cloth binding.
Colophon: Colophon missing; ends with: "... wujūhakum wa-aydiyakum ilá al-marāfiq ..."
In fair naskh script (Jawī style), in black ink, with the text of the Qurʼān in red, on Indonesian paper called "Daluang" which is manufactured from the bark of a certain native tree called "saeh". The last leaf is heavily damaged.
Incipit: "Bismillāh al-Raḥmān al-Raḥīm. al-Ḥamdu lillāh ḥamdan muwāfiyan li-niʻamih, mukāfiyan li-mazīdih, wa-al-ṣalāh wa-al-salām ʻalá Sayyidinā Muḥammad wa-ālihi wa-ṣaḥbih wa-junūdih. Hādhā mā ishtaddat ilayhi ḥājat al-rāghibīn fī taklimat [takmilat] tafsīr al-Qurʼān al-Karīm alladhī allafahu Sayyidunā al-Shaykh al-Imām al-ʻallāmah al-muḥaqqiq Jalāl al-Dīn Muḥammad Abī [ibn] Aḥmad al-Maḥallī al-Shāfiʻī, raḥimahu Allāh, wa-tatmīm mā fātahu, wa-huwa min awwal Sūrat al-Baqarah ilá ākhir al-Isrá [al-Isrāʼ], bi-tatmīmihi ʻalá namaṭihi min dhikr mā yufhamu bi-hi kalām Allāh taʻālá wa-al-iʻtimād ʻalá arjaḥ al-aqwāl ..."
