Abstract: A caricature with a conversation between two men, one of whom has just arrived at the door, umbrella in hand, and the other who sits in a chair in front of his fireplace, feet warming at the grate, as he boils his egg for breakfast. Behind him is a table set for breakfast with a coffee pot and loaf of bread and bowls. The comfortable room is decorated with pictures on the wall and a carpet; the fireplace is decorated with blue tiles (Delft?).
