Michele Bettini, an unrecorded author, was warden of the "Company of the Evangelist" in Rome, which used to stage edifying plays. The present play in verse (the Prologue only is in prose) was performed in1541 and in 1563. It deals with charity.
Original foliation in Roman numerals. Corners and edges defective; the leaves waterstained.
Binding: contemporary paper cover, which is too small for the manuscript.
Provenance: Purchased from Paolo Chiesa (?) on the Edwin J. Beinecke Fund.
