Probable publisher and date from state in British Museum. See Registration number: 1902,1011.4980.
The two sitters' names appear in the two lower corners of the image, below each portrait: 'Master Henry Gawler' and 'Master Jno. Gawler."
John Bellenden Ker (1765?-1842); botanist, wit, and man of fashion; first called John Gawler, in 1804 he was granted license to take the name of Ker Bellenden in lieu of Gawler, invariable known as Bellenden Ker).
Description based on imperfect impression; sheet trimmed within plate mark resulting in probable loss of imprint. Bottom corners trimmed at an angle.
With ms. note in Horace Walpole's hand below title: "sons of Mr. Gawler attorney." - Provenance
