A group portrait shows all in attendance at Emily S. Hartwell's 75th Birthday and 50th Year Missionary Service Celebration 16 April 1934. The tea party was sponsored by the American Board Mission. The photograph was taken outside of the American Board Mission's Foochow [Fuzhou] Compound House, which was built in 1862 by Emily's father, the Rev. Charles Hartwell.
