Ernest Forster, the photographer, was an American Episcopal missionary who stayed in Nanjing during the period of the Japanese occupation, 1937-1938. The Japanese Christian who worshipped with us in St. Paul's Church on February 20, 1938. He presented us with some soap, towels, and biscuits for the refugees.
