Also included in the International Mission Photography Archive. Captions for this set of lantern slides from the papers of Oliver and Jennie Logan, American Presbyterian missionaries in Hunan, were provided by their daughter Elsa. The cormorant fleet which operated in our river and provided fish for the owners of the sampans. Each bird knew his own boat, and gave up the fish he caught. A ring around his neck prevented the bird from swallowing any but the smallest fish, which were his reward for his work.
