Captions for this set of lantern slides from the papers of Oliver and Jennie Logan, American Presbyterian missionaries in Hunan, were provided by their daughter Elsa.
This was in far inland China, in 1915 or 1916. I happened to be with Daddy (the boys were not with us, as I recall) when we passed this very strange sight: an airplane on a Chinese boat. A long wooden boat is stopped along the bank of a river. On the boat a man is standing and there is a small airplane.
