Description
[from subsequent photo] "Cobbler in front of Ginling College Dormitory (formerly the Canadian School) He repairs shoes on the spot." The cobbler looks young, is wearing Chinese clothing and is bending over a piece of leather across his lap. He sits on a low stool against a brick wall and has a basket next to him and shoes on the ground around him. Also included in the International Mission Photography Archive. Ginling College was relocated to the West China Union University campus from approximately 1937 to 1945 during the Japanese occupation of Nanking [Nanjing].
