In the vicinity of this bridge, machine guns here brought into action on June 23." [now Guangzhou] A view of a road by the river, on the left are several buildings, and on the right are electricity poles.

Photo relates to the Shameen incident of June 23, 1925, part of a nationwide series of strikes and demonstrations precipitated by the killing of 13 labor demonstrators by British police in Shanghai.
