An indigenous man wearing a patterned cloak around his body rings a bell which hangs from wooden stand in the middle of a flat, open field.
The back of the postcard is blank and contains a printed title: "BASUTOS. - Ils repondront a la voix de la cloche, car dans leur coeur ils ont repondu a l'appel de Dieu." ("BASUTOS. - They will answer the voice of the bell, for in their heart they answered the call of God.") The postcard is issued by the "Missions des Oblats de Marie Immaculee" and published by "Editions Apostoliques, 36, Rue de Trion, Lyon."
