Description
Algerie et Kabylie - La Kabylie - Les hautes cimes du Djurdjura, blanches de neige en hiver, et un village kabyle, bati en nid d'aigle. ("Algeria and Kabylie - Kabylie - high summits of Djurdjura, white of snow in winter, and a kabyle village, built in an eagle's nest.") A large group of indigenous men and women stand on a hillside overlooking a town which stretches across the slope of a mountain. In the background larger snow-capped mountains are visible. Also included in the International Mission Photography Archive. The back of the postcard is blank and contains printed information about the publisher: "Soeurs Missionnaires de N.-D. d' Afrique, St-Charles - Edition G.-L. ARLAUD - LYON, Repr. interdite." The Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Africa were a Catholic missionary order.
