"Washing Clothes at Mponda's (Nyasaland Diocese) This is done by the river side, and for protection against crocodiles a fence is erected, inside which washing and bathing takes place in safety."
The color postcard depicts several women by a riverbank, washing clothes. A fence of cut poles extends into the water.
