This map focuses on the Canadian territory Yukon. In 1897 it was still part of the Northwest Territories and is called that on this map. In 1898 the western part of the Northwest Territories became the Yukon. The border dispute between Alaska and Canada was resolved in 1903 by arbitration. This maps appears to show the border between Southeast Alaska and Canada as claimed by the United States before the arbitration.
