"In a bare but neat ale-house room three Greenwich pensioners are in deep and heated discussion at a table before the fire. They point to fragments of pipe stem, arranged to show the position of ships in some engagement. Two sit, one stands; two have peg-legs. A fourth man (left) watches intently.
