George Rouse, private, Co. G, 7th N.Y. Vols., aged 27, admitted to Harewood U.S.A. Gen'l Hospital, September 12, 1865, suffering from great deformity of right limb the result of gunshot wound, right thigh, upper third, through trochanter major, severely fracturing femur. Wounded at the battle of Southside Railroad, Va., April 1, 1865. On admission to this Hospital, the patient had so far recovered as to be able to sit up, and constitutional state was tolerably good. The fractured parts had firmly united, but with great deformity; wound of entrance also healed; but there are still some discharges from sinures in thigh, and small fragments of necrosed bones are daily removed. Prospects as to usefulness of limb unfavorable; patient otherwise doing tolerably well.
