Binding: contemporay Dülmen binding of the blind-stamped leather over wooden boards; original upper clasps (clasp-hooks wanting).
Bound in Beinecke copy are four leaves from a twelfth-century ms. on parchment (probably a breviary) with musical notation in neumes.
Differs from description of BM 15th cent., II, p. 423 in that quire g has 10 ff. (not 8), and quire G has 8 ff. (not 10).
Provenance: "Liber p[ri]m[u]s decretalis D[omini] H[er]bordi Wernyngh de Borchorst pastoris in Vreden atq[ue] Rectoris p[ri]mi altar[is] eccl[es]is ... [unidentified proper name"]. "In a different hand: Quem idem donauit post morte[m] domui Castrimarie p[ro]pe Dulmania[m] Ord[inis] Carthusien[sis] cum multis aliis quare merito ... fideliter pro eodem etc." (ms. on 1 a); "W.S. Thorpe 1871" (ms. on 1a); "R.B. Anderson, Madison, Wis." (stamp on 1a); "I have had the pleasure of being the happy possessor ... and am glad to know that it passes from me into Mr. John E. Burton's appreciative hands ... May 8, 1882. R.B. Anderson" (ms. on 1a); owned by George P. Milmine.
