Published / Created: between 1913 and 1916
Description: "Swatow [Shantou] Acad. Dormitory: Built of granite and reinforced concrete, proof against typhoons, earthquakes, and white ants. Begun Spring 1918, + finished in the Summer 1919. It is so high we could not get a view from the level without cutting off part of the building. Grounds still to be laid out." The dormitory is situated on a cliff, and the view of it is at an upward angle. Mountains rise behind the building.
