Satirical verse on the Address presented by the Lord Mayor, Aldermen, and Common Council to the King on 31 January 1727; see M.O. Percival, Political ballads illustrating the administration of Sir Robert Walpole (Oxford, 1916), p. 10-13, where the concealed names are glossed. In two columns, separated by a column of very large type ornaments; title extends above both columns; imprint at the foot of the second column. Verse begins: "My Lord M--r and his A--n and C--n C--l too," (i.e. My Lord Mayor and his Aldermen and Common Council too). Imprint below second column. Mounted on leaf 17. Copy trimmed. Bound in three-quarters red morocco leather with marbled boards, with spine title stamped in gold: Old English ballads, woodcuts, vol. 1. Some loss of text near title.
