Description: "This tintype inclosed (sic) is the photo of Charlie Sawyer a colored boy who was brought North at the closing of the Civil War, by Jacob Newbold Woolston who was a drummer boy in the New Jersey Volunteers. Sawyer lived thereafter at the home of John B. Woolston at Port Colden, N.J.," typewritten on back of old envelope accompanying.
