Manuscript collection of poems, mostly unattributed, with some attributed to Maria Banks (Woodley) Riddell (1772-1808) two of which are dated 1789, and some attributed to "W" and to "L." Contents include: lengthy narrative poems on brave knights and adventurers, ghosts, witches, mermaids, nymphs, and other mythic and heroic themes; shorter verse fables and allegories about animals; some poems on Mrs. H. Tighe; hymns on nature; verse paraphrases of Psalms and of classical authors including Petronius and Ossian; other neo-classical, occasional, and elegaic verse. With verse preface, titled "Oh you who would deign my book peruse" and dated 8th Jany 1814; indexed by page number
