Endorsed on fly-leaf: This life of Markland forms part of the 4th Volume of the second Edition of the "Anecdotes of Bowyer," & was presented to me by Mr. Nichols, the Author, in 1810 - It is perfectly unique, no other copy having been struck off distinct from the rest of the Work. J.H. Markland.
