In Latin.
Script: copied by a single hand writing a large and regular Carolina. Headings in a mixture of Capitalis and Uncialis. Neumatic notation on a red line.
Headings in red. Heightening of majuscules in yellow. Initials in red heightened with yellow, placed between the double bounding lines.
Binding: red morocco over pasteboard; spine with 4 raised bands. The front cover decorated with a wreath in green, silver and gold containing the initials “S.C.C.” in gold. - Provenance
- The manuscript was copied in the scriptorium of Santa Maria in Trastevere. Offered for sale by Sotheby in 1859 together with other manuscripts from Santa Cecilia. Collection of Sydney Cockerell (no. 3), bought by him at Sotheby's 1901 February 28 (lot 1059). Long note on this manuscript by him on front flyleaf, dated 1904 December 4. 1957 January 18 given by him to Brian S. Cron (d. 2002). Purchased from Quaritch in 2002 June on the Edwin J. Beinecke Fund.
